CHARLIE'S CAT - A Tool for Chart Study and Analysis
CHARLIE'S CAT allows the trader to study chart formations or test new ideas by covering a chart and unveiling price/time units one-at-a-time. Learn to not just passively look at charts but to actively see them.
It is easy to see nice chart formations after the fact. But can you see them as they form? If not, there is no predictive value involved and of course that is what trading is all about - prediction!
The chart examples you see in books have of course worked. But many do not and to learn the difference between the two you must study them as they form, not after-the-fact.
My mentor, Charles B. ('Charlie') Goodman taught me to place a piece of paper over a chart and pull it one time-frame at a time, gradually unveiling the chart as it had formed in real-time.
Real-time charts take time to unfold. With Charlie's CAT you can study many charts in simulated real-time quickly and efficiently.
With CHARLIE’S CAT you don't need to use a piece of paper. Simply:
Open C-CAT.
Browse your computer files for charts. See the READ ME for supported file extensions.
We recommend you save a good sized catalog of charts before working with C-CAT.
Select the color for the C-CAT chart cover.
Under OPTIONS set the Iteration Tool so that only a single time frame or price bar is revealed with each click. This may take a brief amount of trial-and-error. Of course, you may set Iteration to reveal multiple time frames or price bars at a single click.
Use '< <' and '> >' to move back-and-forth across the chart. TIP: Pause with each revealed time frame or price bar to consider the price action carefully. Make tentative predictions; see how they come out for you. Make hypotheses and see if they are then True or False as the chart is slowly revealed.
